Today’s news that Honda is to close its UK base for four months after Friday’s shifts are over is surely a massive blow to those involved.

The halt will affect just over 3,000 of the 4,000 employees, who will receive their full basic pay for the first two months, but around 60% thereafter.  The shutdown at its Swindon base is thought to be one of the longest in Britain’s recent industrial history.

More doom and gloom… or an opportunity for people to evaluate their personal situation and set some new goals for their future?

Who knows, but we were really interested to hear from one of our freelance Team Building Activity Instructors who’s turning the situation on its head and using his difficult situation at Honda to get out and about, keep busy and help to support other teams on their team building activities and corporate events.

Half full… or half empty…

Well, James is certainly half full and in a strange kind of way looking forward to the next few months and getting out on more team building events with Kaboura.

We do, of course, wish him all the best - long may that positive ‘half full’ attitude continue…
