Make a Difference Day - Smiths Medical

Well done to the team from Smiths Medical who successfully completed a charitable team building event by undertaking one of our unique Make a Difference Days last week.  The team of International Managers flew in from around the world and found themselves at the Rare Breeds Centre in Ashford, Kent, supporting The Canterbury Oast Trust.

As part of the community challenge team building event the team undertook a range of tasks to support the charity - everything from painting the craft centre to refurbishing the outdoor furniture.  And the huge pigs that live at the centre were cause for much interest amongst the team!

Team building business games

Well done to the team from Lablogic who successfully completed their two-day team building event this weekend at Centre Parks, in Nottingham.

Day one saw the team undertake our Decisions, Decisions team building Business Game and take on the role of the Board of Directors for a Travel Firm who were responsible for looking after a trekking group in Borneo.  As the game progressed the team were faced with a range of scenarios that had to be managed as part of the activity - everything from guests missing flights to overnight accommodation being overbooked!

Day two saw the team undertake our Eldorado team building Business Game and saw them working together to identify the location of the missing treasure and find the right key to the treasure chest.  A great activity for exploring how well a team co-operate to achieve an end task!

All in all a great event that was enjoyed by the team and highlighted some interesting areas around team working.

Christmas team building event

Our ‘Christmas Card Campaign’ seems to have been the biggest team building event we’ve ever run as hundreds of people scrambled to join in the fun and vote for their favourite charity!

A huge ‘thank you’ to all those people who took the time to vote as part of this campaign and help choose where our Christmas donation was sent in lieu of sending Christmas Cards.

We were overwhelmed by the response to this initiative which certainly seems to have received a big ‘thumbs-up’ from all our clients, staff, suppliers and business contacts.

The voting was pretty close but after a final count up we’re delighted to report that the winning charity with the most votes was…………… Click here to find out where this year’s Christmas donation ended up!

Team building in the snow!

Well, despite the terrible weather and snow yesterday we’re delighted to report that our Event Manager Dave still managed to battle his way through the lanes in Kent and successfully complete all the site visits for our forthcoming ‘Make a Difference‘ team building day for Smiths Medical.

Dave managed to visit four potential community team building projects and view a range of possibilities - everything from supporting the local Scouts to  a make over for a homeless housing project.

Our unique Community team building events and charitable team building activities continue to be a popular option for teams looking to enjoy a team building day whilst also doing some good for others.  These team building activities are increasingly being used to support company’s corporate social responsibility agendas and provide teams with a really practical way of promoting CSR within the company and making a difference.

We have an Event Planning Meeting today to review all the potential community projects for this charitable team building day and will be updating the community project beneficaries today to let them know who’s the lucky winner!

Happy Christmas

As another year draws to a close, we’ve been looking back at some of the highlights of the year and analysing feedback from our clients as part of our on-going focus for ‘continuous improvement’ in all areas of our work.  Whilst we’ve been operating through the UK’s deepest recession for 60 years, we’re delighted to report that we’ve continued to maintain a strong level of service delivery and run a large number of successful team building events throughout the year.

Highlights for us have been…

• The continued development and growth of our Community Team Building Events.  These will continue to develop and grow throughout 2010.
• The implementation, launch and development of Express Venues - our dedicated Venue Finding Division.
• The positive feedback we’ve received from every single team building event we’ve run this year.

• The new office phone system!! This has allowed us to work smarter in the office!

Team building that Makes a Difference

The Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square, London, was the latest setting for our unique ‘One World, One Team‘ charitable team building event which saw a large team from Societe Generale successfully make, pack and wrap nearly 100 charitable gift boxes for needy children.

This innovative charitable team building event is a great way to promote corporate social responsibility as part of your team building event and help make a difference to children in the wider global community. Plus it’s alot of fun!

And despite the fact that the teams had been in a conference all day they really did pull out all the stops as they battled it out to complete a range of fun team building activities in order to earn the most amount of cash to spend in the ‘Shop of Dreams.

Challenges complete, it was time to visit the on-site ‘Shop of Dreams’ to purchase items for their gift boxes prior packing them ready for despatch.  And with the boxes complete the event ended with the team viewing a video highlighting details on where their boxes would end up and how they would make a difference to the life of a child.

All in all a super Xmas event that was enjoyed by the whole team.

Charitable team building events

As the recession continues to hit the events industry we’ve found more and more companies are turning to charitable team building events in order to keep the Financial Director happy and on-side!
