How to Tailor a High Quality Team Building Event in 2 Days
On Monday we received a call from one of our clients requesting a last minute team building event for 140 people in two days time! At first we were a little unsure as to whether we would have the capacity to manage this event on top of an already busy week but I’m pleased to report we were able to create a high quality event at short notice and we rose to the challenge of delivering a “last minute team building event”.
The activity we provided was Mexican Railway - and it showed that we can manage events with really short lead times if needed. Can your team work together to design and build a unique railway to a specific brief?
OUTLINE
An ideal activity to build into a wider conference programme to give delegates a lift and get people working together.
OVERVIEW
Mexican Wave is a popular activity that can be tailored to your products and really get your team working together.
Participants are provided with specialist building material and have to construct their own section of railway track. These are then linked together to form one main Mexican railway line.
The group is then provided with a number of balls that must be manoeuvred around the track by working together. By co-ordinating the team’s movements by lowering and raising the track the ‘wave’ creates the energy required to move the balls.

Happy Christmas
As another year draws to a close, we’ve been looking back at some of the highlights of the year and analysing feedback from our clients as part of our on-going focus for ‘continuous improvement’ in all areas of our work. Whilst we’ve been operating through the UK’s deepest recession for 60 years, we’re delighted to report that we’ve continued to maintain a strong level of service delivery and run a large number of successful team building events throughout the year.
Highlights for us have been…
- The continued development and growth of our Community Team Building Events. These will continue to develop and grow throughout 2010.
- The implementation, launch and development of Express Venues - our dedicated Venue Finding Division.
- The positive feedback we’ve received from every single team building event we’ve run this year.
- The on-going strategic alliance with our Partner Company in the USA.
- The new office phone system!! This has allowed us to work smarter in the office!
- The outlook for 2010 which looks really positive and exciting.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our clients, staff, suppliers and supporters who have been part of Kaboura Events throughout 2009. We wish you all a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you all in 2010.

NHS Team save the day!
Well done to the team from the NHS in Leicetershire who successfully completed our fantastic Spy Trap team building event last week - and all lived to tell the tale!
The 75 strong team spent the day completing a range of tasks to earn the important resources required to successully set the trap and with the ten structures built and set the plan was hatched. And after a couple of technical tweaks the trap kicked into life and did its stuff much to the enjoyment of the whole team.
And with their team building mission complete, the team headed off into Leicester to complete a fun Picture Treasure Hunt with hilarious results. All in all another fantastic team building event with some superb feedback from all the participants.

Race for Space team building event
Well done to the team from HSBC who have successfully reached Astronaut status and launched their rockets as part of our unique Race for Space team building event.
We’re pleased to report that the team successfully completed their Astronaut training prior to visiting the ‘Rocket Shop’ to collect the necessary rocket resources. And despite one crash landing in a hedge, all rockets returned safely to earth following a successful count down and launch!
Race for Space is a popular team building activity with a difference.
Team’s are issued with their Space Training Passport which must be verified by completing a number of team building activities. If they successfully complete the team building activities (cunningly disguised as ‘Space Training Modules!), they will gain access to the secure rocket shop and be issued with their rocket building resources. And once built, it’s off to the launch zone for the final count down.
Race for Space is a fantastic event for people looking for something a little different - contact us for further details on this unique team building event.
